Sam Champion’s Father Lt. Col. James H. Champion Passes Away

Oct 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The veteran anchor of “Good Morning America”, Sam Champion has been missing from the show for a week. However, at last the people and the fans of the anchor came to know that Sam Champion’s father LT. Col. James H. Champion passed away Monday night for which he could not on the show. Lt. Col. James H. Champion died after battling with cancer and finally passed away at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center on Monday.
The gossip portals were speculating that Sam Champion is away from the show as he went on a leave to marry his boyfriend. However, later the whole matter became clear when “Good Morning America” senior executive officer Jim Murphy announced in a statement that Sam Champion’s father Lt. Col. James H. Champion passed away in Houston. The statement also stated that Sam Champion’s sister Teresa Champion and his mother Sylvia Champion was there with Lt. Col. James H. Champion “at the end”. The executive producer reportedly said that Sam Champion’s family is “strong” and they are hanging together with each other at the time of their grief.
Later Sam Champion also confirmed his father’s death in the homepage of his social networking site where he thanked all his fans for their love and support. He called his father as “World’s Best Dad” and “awesome guy” and reportedly said that he will be greatly missed by the family. Lt. Col. James H. Champion was 75 years old. Sam Champion appeared on “Good Morning America” show last Friday and then he was not seen anymore. The anchor wrote in the social networking site that he will be appearing on the show for a week as owing to his family emergency.
