July 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Angelina Jolie starrer ‘Salt’ was one of the most anticipated movies this summer and initial responses by the critics and audience suggest that the film has lived up to its expectations. The film generated serious hype after it was revealed that Angelina Jolie did not use a body double for the film and even got injured during the dangerous stunts of the film.

In a recent appearance at Comic-Con, Angelina Jolie revealed that this is the most thrilling action film that she has done so far. She said that she was injured and bruised several times during the shooting of the film and at one point even thought she had a concussion. The dark and complex character of the CIA agent called Evelyn Salt has been played to perfection by the star. The story of the film revolves around the character played by Angelina Jolie and she is seen to be running from the authorities after being framed as a Russian spy. She is seen using all her experience to avoid being captured and prove her innocence. The film contains intense action and there is a darkness and complexity about the setting and the characters that makes it a must watch.

Some of the reports suggest that Tom Cruise was the initial choice for the film but as he was not sure, Angelina Jolie lapped up the role of the CIA officer. The film also has a strong and interesting political side to it that refers to the Cold War era and the suspense of the thriller is maintained till the very end. It is too early to predict its fate at the box office though.
