Salma Hayek to bring hit musical ‘Wicked’ to the small screen
January 11th, 2011 - 5:41 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 11 (ANI): Salma Hayek is all set to bring the hit musical ‘Wicked’ to the small screen in the form of a new mini series.
The massively popular Wizard Of Oz spin-off, based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 book, ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’, is in production all over the world, bringing in millions of pounds.
And Hayek hopes to replicate the success on the small screen in a new mini-series. Band of Brothers writer Erik Jendresen has been hired to pen the script, while Hayek and her production partner, Jose Tamez, will act as executive producers, reports the Daily Express.
The TV show will be more closely based on Maguire’s book than the musical, according to Variety. (ANI)
