Salma Hayek graces the Cannes Festival
May 12th, 2011 - 11:40 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCannes, May 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mexican actress Salma Hayek was at the Cannes Festival on Thursday. The actress is promoting her new movie “Puss In Boots” which also featured Antonio Banderas.
Salma’s dress got the attention of the public and became a topic for discussion. The 44-year-old star got to the festival with a strapless orange Gucci dress. The actress is not only big fan of Gucci but she also has a personal interest in the Italian fashion outlet. Salma’s husband François-Henri Pinault is the CEO of the company that currently owns Gucci.
Banderas was also at the festival. He was seen with Salma cuddling in his arms during the photo shoot. Banderas and Salma played love interest in the animated movie. “Puss In Boots” will be released in the later part of the year. The owners have been working on the movie since 2004.
Salma spoke about how it feels to have the opportunity to play in Hispanic movies. She told reporters that, “When I started out, Hispanic roles were very limited. Roles were very limited. There were one or two kinds of characters you used to do. Now we get to play the cats! It’s OK to be a Hispanic.”
