In the interview with the magazine, Salma Hayek candidly admits that she was an illegal immigrant for only a short period of time after which the actress received citizenship. Salma Hayek is undoubtedly one of the most prominent figures from Latin America to have made it big in the big bad world of Hollywood and she uses the platform of the interview with the magazine to reveal how she had to bear the brunt of racial discriminations in the US because North American producers and directors did not want to cast a Mexican as leading lady. However, Salma Hayek worked hard to earn an Academy Award nomination, she being the second Mexican actress in Hollywood to have achieved such a feat.
Salma Hayek features on the cover pages of the ‘V Magazine Spain’ where she has posed as the face of the magazine’s issue ‘A Woman’s Weapons’. Widely known by her acting prowess, Salma Hayek has also wowed the audience with her direction capabilities and her philanthropic work towards the betterment of women.
