sadieNew York, Feb 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Westminster Dog Show 2010 took place on Feb 15 and 16 at Madison Square Garden. Considered to be one of the biggest dog shows in the United States, this was the 134th installment of the competition. A huge number of canines took part in the show, all competing to win the biggest title of “Best In Show.” Although admittedly difficult to choose the best dog from the hordes of adorable and brilliant competitors, the “Best In Show” crown was taken away by Sadie, the Scottish Terrier. The four year old dog was brought into the show in the company of her handler, Gabriel Rangel.

Sadie, the Scottish Terrier, won in the initial round that decided the final round up for the Best In Show competition. She was chosen by the judge of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, Elliott B. Weiss, along with three others- a fox terrier, an Airedale Terrier and a Norwich terrier. Sadie managed to secure the top spot and secured her place in the final list of the “Best In Show” contestants.

The fellow contestants of the Scottish Terrier in the final round of the Best In Show contest were a toy poodle in the Toy Group, a Whippet in the Hound group, a Doberman Pinscher representing the Working Group, a Puli from the Herding Group, a Brittany Spaniel of the Sporting Group and a French Bulldog representing the Non-Sporting Group. Sadie was in fact being touted to be the dark horse of the race, being the most favored to win, and in fact had also managed to win the title of the “Best In Breed” before she took away the prize for being the “Best In Show.”
