Sacha Baron Cohen to play Saddam Hussein
January 21st, 2011 - 10:29 pm ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Jan 21 (IANS) Actor Sacha Baron Cohen has been roped in to play late President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, in upcoming movie “The Dictator”. Aceshowbiz.com reports, the Paramount Pictures’ project is inspired by the best selling novel, “Zabibah and The King”, by Saddam Hussein.
According to Deadline.com, the film “tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.”
Baron Cohen not only stars in the film but he also produces it along with Scott Rudin, Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel. The film will be helmed by Larry Charles who has directed him in “Borat” and “Bruno”.
