This news is no more a ‘well kept’ secret that the Warner Brothers are planning to make an action movie, based on the popular DC comic character of “Green Lantern” aka Hal Jordan from the “Justice League”. The recent update, however, from the Warner Brothers camp is that actor Ryan Reynolds is going to be cast in the character of the Green Lantern in the movie. The Warner Brothers team has chosen the actor for the role after a thorough month long search that had involved quite a lot of options.

On Friday, Reynolds and his representatives entered a negotiation with the studio, after they had held two rounds of screen tests for the actor. Accompanying Reynolds for the screen test were others like Bradley “The Hangover” Cooper, Pop singer Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto. One of the reasons, why the search had lasted so long is only because each of the people finalizing on the actor (the director, the producer and the studio) for the title role had their own favorites; they could not arrive at an unanimous decision over anyone of the actors appearing for the screen test. The “Green Lantern” is going to be directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti.

If the deal with the Warner Brothers fall through, Reynolds is going to be the only actor to have played the role of superheroes for screen ventures of both Marvel and Dc. Recently he had been the part of the 20th Century Fox Movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” based on the extremely popular comic book of X-Men, in which he had played the character of Deadpool (also known as Merc with a Mouth).
