Ryan Kwanten To Play The Lead Role In Charles Manson Biopic

October 28, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The Charles Manson biopic is supposed to depict the cult family of Mansons which went on a killing spree. Ryan Kwanten, the ‘True Blood’ star has been finalized to play the title role. He is already readying himself for portraying the man who had been convicted of murder. The project has been titled ‘The Family’ although the release date for the film is yet to be set.

Kwanten seems to be quite excited and is looking forward to the experience. He says that he will try to bring a different dimension to the character of the man who had the unbelievable charisma of convincing people. He could, in fact, make them commit any kind of atrocities at his behest.

Kwanten is known for playing the highly sexed up character of Jason Stackhouse in ‘True Blood’ , one who is not to bright. ‘The Family’ is still in the developmental stage confirmed the actor while speaking to NBC. He is currently doing interviews for his next film titled ‘Red Hill’.

The director of the disturbing film, The Machinist, Brad Anderson has been asked to direct this particular biopic too. ‘The Machinist’ had Christian Bale starring in it. Charles Manson is currently serving his life imprisonment sentence. He had been found guilty on seven counts for murder along with a count for conspiring to murder.

He had been the head of the Manson Family cult which had embarked on a killing spree back in the late 60s. Hollywood actress Sharon Tate along with the baby in her womb had also been one of their victims.
