Russell Crowe to direct biopic on Bill Hicks

Sydney, July 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Russell Crowe is all set to make his directorial debut with a biopic on Bill Hicks. Earlier it was being speculated that Russell Crowe would enact the main character but now it has been confirmed that instead, Russell would use the movie to make his directorial debut.

So now it remains to be seen who would enact the character of Bill Hicks. The writer of the movie – Mark Staufer said that, casting is on for the role. “It is a huge role for someone, made all the more special, or downright scary, by the fact the director is an Oscar-winning actor like Russell,” Mark Staufer said.

Bill Hicks was a well known comedian and he was famous all over the world for his great humor and standup comedy. He died untimely death at the age of just 32 years after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Presently Russell Crowe is playing the character of Noah in Darren Aronofsky’s movie, which is currently being shot in Iceland. Besides this, he is involved in a number of projects like the latest adaptation of Les Miserables, amongst others.
