London, April 8 (ANI): Academy Award winner Russell Crowe, who is set to hit the big screen as Robin Hood in his upcoming movie, says he nearly pulled out of what was originally a futuristic-sounding film.
The actor saw the first draft of the script that portrayed the character as a villain and had second thoughts.
“When I read that particular script, and no disrespect to the guys who wrote it, but it kind of read like CSI: Sherwood Forest. And I just wasn’t into doing that. It wasn’t interesting to me in that incarnation,” the Daily Express quoted Crowe as saying.
But later he accepted the role of the heroic outlaw.
The movie has been directed by Ridley Scott and will be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May. (ANI)
