Russell Brand says he doesn’t regret Andrew Sachs prank call
November 14th, 2009 - 4:27 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, November 14 (ANI): Russell Brand has pledged not to tone down his comic tones, adding he does not regret his offensive prank phone calls to actor Andrew Sachs.
The Brit prankster faced much heat after leaving a series of lewd messages on the answering machine of the Fawlty Towers star, including one in which he boasted about sleeping with the 78-year-old’s granddaughter.
The 34-year-old later apologised for the “juvenile and thoughtless” remarks and resigned from his BBC Radio 2 job following nationwide outrage over the phone call.
But the comedian told 500 fans gathered at HMV’s Oxford Street store that he “would have done nothing differently”.
“I ain’t afraid, I don’t give a ****. I will not lose my edge,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.
He added: “I apologise for the thing I did wrong to the person I did it to, but the whole subsequent scandal was funny. It is funny, I think.” (ANI)
