Jan 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It has been reported that Katy Perry and short time boyfriend Russell Brand are finally engaged. The couple had first met at the MTV Video Music show awards, where Russell Brand was the host. The news comes soon after the report that the couple had gone to India to celebrate Christmas. They had also tweeted pictures of their stay in India, including some snaps of monkeys, a henna tattoo that Katy Perry had obtained while in India and also a picture in which the couple poses in front of the Taj Mahal.

Apparently, Katy Perry and Russell Brand got engaged about a week back, approximately. It has been reported that Russell Brand had popped the question to his girlfriend in the traditional way, complete with a ring. Apparently, Russell Brand had decided to ask her on New Years Eve, after the couple had been blessed by a love guru. In fact, the news has not come as a surprise to all and sundry, particularly as the man had been spotted out shopping for a ring recently.

There are some contentions on the matter whether Russell Brand and Katy Perry have admitted to the rumor or not. While some sources claim that he had indeed admitted to it, via text, still others confirm that the news has not yet got the couple’s affirmation. However, even though the reports have not yet been confirmed, it is likely that very soon it will, considering that Russel Brand had confessed in a show not long back that he was very much in love with Katy Perry, and that in the future, he would like to settle down with her.
