Russel Hantz: Survivor Villain Arrested for Battery

Apr 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) One of “Survivor’s favorite ‘love to hate’ villains has managed to get himself in trouble with the law. Russell Hantz, 37, of Dayton, Texas, allegedly pushed a female companion on Jefferson Street near NiteTown about 1:45 a.m., said Lafayette Police spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton. He was arrested this morning (Friday) on charges of battery.

According to law enforcement officials, Russell Hantz was partying at the festival where the female victim was also celebrating. Both were reportedly attending the five day Francophone world music street fest of the Festival International de Louisiana, when he allegedly pushed the other festival attendee to the ground. The married father of four were very quickly placed in hand cuffs and taken into custody. The woman suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment, Mouton said. Officers responded to the scene after being flagged down by people on the street, he said. Hantz was booked and then released from the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a misdemeanor summons, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

You may remember him as the castaway with the piercing eyes, pot belly balck heart. He found sudden fame as the runner-up from “Survivor: Samoa” and who’s one of the love-to-hate villians from the current season of “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains ” Russel Hantz still has a good chance to win the 20th season of “Survivor” as a villian. The show airs on CBS.
