Despite TNT posing a very stiff competition to dislodge USA from the ratings chart and usurping the top spot, USA networks did manage to cling on to the prime spot. USA networks averaged 3.35 million viewership in the last one week, beating its adversary hands down.
The spot at the top of the cable ratings was assured for USA by the new show on its network, “Royal Pains”. The original drama drew a large amount of viewers reaching a number of 5.59 million in its Thursday 10 p.m airtime slot. The result has been announced by the Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings data. The second episode of the season one added in 20,000 more viewers to the ratings.
The third episode of the first season got aired on Thursday, June 18. The episode showed Tucker suggesting Hank to attend a retirement party in order to increase his networking. In this way they come to find out that the retiree is a young ballerina by the name of Tess Premoli. In the following days, Hank’s brother begins to like Tess quite a lot.
While attending the party, Jill appears to be pretty tensed and overwrought. The reason for her agitated state is disclosed to be her clinic; one of the benefactors for the free clinic is reported to have pulled out of the deal of helping her. Though Tucker makes the suggestion of going over to his parent’s house to finish the night, Jill appears dispirited and in a turmoil over her free clinic.
On the other side, Evan, feeling that Tess is deprived of any real and edible food, makes her an offer to have some. The result however turns disastrous when Tess faints after gorging on a hot dog. Though the situation is unflattering, Dr. Hank does not seem to detect anything wrong with Tess. Hank goes to attend one of the patients who Jill is taking as an example to have a free clinic for. In her vulnerable state, Jill lands up exposing some of her feelings to Hank.
