Nov 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The veteran R&B singer Ron Isley seems to be on a roll these days. For the last few days, he has been nothing less that his destiny’s favorite child. A string of good luck came to him, ever since he was honored with a tribute at the Soul Train Music Awards.
He was brought to stage by Steve Harvey, to perform on the track “Between the sheets”. His approach to the stage was enough to drool the audiences with a huge round of applause. However that was not the end of it. Today, his new and debut solo album, “Mr. I” has been released. Its pre-order that started from November 25 itself, saw an overwhelming response. “Mr. I” has got ten different R&B tracks, that also features some other popular singers like Aretha Franklin and T.I. The former has lent her voice for the track, “You’ve Got a Friend,” while the latter supported the singer in “Put Your Money On Me”. This was his first solo effort, and therefore it was rather a necessity for him to resort to other popular singers. Ron Isley said that he is not good at playing an instrument, and therefore he wanted to take the help of those, who are good at playing it. He also wanted some other good song writers to support him in his first solo album.
Yesterday, the R&B veteran Ron Isley was featured in new “Tavis Smiley Show”, for an exclusive interview. The show was aired on PBS at 11:00 p.m. The showed paid yet another tribute to the popular singer, and was coupled with the usual comedy, stand ups, and a range of other interesting stuffs in order to entertain the viewers.
