Roman Polanski to fight extradition to America
November 21st, 2009 - 3:00 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 21 (ANI): Roman Polanski will fight his extradition to the US from Switzerland, according to his French lawyer.
The 76-year-old Rosemary’s Baby director was arrested by Swiss officials in Zurich on September 26 for having illegal sex with a teenager in late 1970s, reports The Sun.
Polanski had accepted the charges and was about to be convicted when he fled the US to France in 1978.
Polanski now faces two years in a LA jail after skipping bail.
Even as the extradition battle could take months or even years, his lawyer said they would apply for bail. (ANI)
