Roman Polanski returns to France after release from house arrest
July 28th, 2010 - 6:31 pm ICT by ANILondon, July 28 (ANI): Polish film director Roman Polanski has returned to his home in France after his release from house arrest in Switzerland.
Polanski, 76, had regained his freedom on July 12 after Swiss officials turned down U.S. prosecutors’ requests to extradite him on a 33-year-old child sex charge, the Daily Express reported.
He had been restricted to his luxury chalet in Gstaad since he was taken into custody in Zurich last September (09) en route to a film festival.
After his release, he attended a music festival in Switzerland on July 17, where his singer wife, Emmanuelle Seigner, was performing.
The director was spotted on the streets of Paris on July 25 when he accompanied Seigner and their son Elvis to a restaurant. (ANI)
