Sep 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Today, standing at the age of 45, Samantha Geimer is willing to forget all that had happened to her nearly 32 years ago. She is also willing to forgive the person who had wronged her, director Roman Polanski. In fact, Geimer is the one who is trying to force the Los Angeles Police department (LAPD) to drop all the charges that are pending against the iconic movie director.

Now, years after the sex scandal that had surfaced in the 1970s, Samantha Geimer has chosen to break her silence over the entire sordid affair. The past however, seems like a hard bargain to get by and it came calling once more on Sunday, when Polanski was arrested by the Zurich police as he stepped on to the airport premises, in relation to the decades old arrest warrant that had been pending against him. The warrant for raping a minor, that had been issued in the year 1978. At that point of time, Polanski has fled the country to escape the sentence. It is not clear however, what is the cause to have actually mobilized the sudden arrest of the Polish-French director.

It was in the year 1997, that she had come out in the open and claimed that she had long since forgiven the immensely talented director and requested the legal authorities to do the same too, by dropping all the charges. It had been alleged then that, on a fateful night, at the residence of the actor Jack Nicholson, Roman Polanski had allegedly raped the then 13 year old Geimer, who had been an aspiring model.

She had later stated, “I have survived, indeed prevailed, against whatever harm Mr. Polanski may have cause me as a child. I got over it a long time ago.”
