September 10, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The child star Rodney Allen Rippy is in a serious condition after being in a crash. Rodney had been riding his bike which crashed leaving him with fractured ribs and lung puncture. The incident occurred on Monday, 6th September.

The child star did not understand the seriousness of his situation when he was thrown into the air. He went home after the accident oblivious of the fact that he has sustained critical injuries. He got himself admitted into a hospital only when he found that he was unable to breathe without pain. The doctors looking after him report him as critical and are keeping him in the Trauma Unit.

He had not been too far from his home in North Carolina when he crashed. The adorable child star who starred in a series of Jack in the Box commercials of the seventies is all of 42 now. He is not an acting star anymore having decided to turn producer and writer in his adult life.

Rippy’s own website has a number of his photos all featuring him in the seventies. He has also uploaded one of the American Music Awards of 1974 an event that had been created by Dick Clark back in 1973. Michael Jackson and Donny Osmond had acted as the co –hosts during very first award show along with Ricky Segall and Rippy himself.

His fans have joined in and wish him a speedy recovery.
