London, Oct 8 (ANI): Rockstar Rod Stewart is preparing to bid adieu to the US and move back to Britain.

Rod, 65, and pregnant wife Penny Lancaster, 39, consider Britain schools better and are thinking of relocation for their son Alastair, four, and their unborn boy.

Rod left Britain 35 years ago to escape punitive tax levels by Harold Wilson’s Labour government and is only allowed back for a quarter of a year.

However, on ITV1 ‘Life Stories’ show, due to be screened later this year, he said he would return in about five years.

“There will come a time. Penny and I have talked about it and she wants Alastair to be educated in Britain - and the newborn,” the Sun quoted him as telling host Piers Morgan.

Rod said he was tricked into leaving Britain by his manager and was heartbroken at first.

“I went to California and my manager said, ‘you have to stay here for a year and you can’t go back’. I was so close to my family and the football and my mum and dad were still alive but I am glad I went,” he explained. (ANI)
