Rocker Phil Collins writing Alamo History book

Sep 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Phil Collins, a veteran singer and rocker is taking is passion for the city Texas to dizzying heights by writing a history book about the battle of Alamo.

The famous ‘In the air tonight’ singer said from childhood he is fascinated with the battleground. He added that he like to devote his time to collecting and building up the collection of wartime artifacts from the Texas revolution, which is related to the pivotal 1836 event.

He said that as an amateur historian he would like to use all the information and knowledge he gathered from his past study in releasing his own book. He said this is his first attempt towards writing and the book would be a tribute towards his passion and love for history of Texas.

On his recent interview to the New York Times Magazine, he said that when he first saw Walt Disney’s Davy Crockett with Fess Parker that he decided to write about Alamo. He added that after seeing it he has never stopped thinking about the Battle of Alamo. He told the magazine that he loves to collect memorabilia. He said that, “I’m a huge collector of memorabilia. I’ve got Davy Crockett’s bullet pouch. I’ve got Colonel Travis’ belt.”
