Dec.31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the fans of rocker Patti Smith were in for a treat as a documentary based on the life of the much acclaimed musician was aired on Wednesday night on WYES-Channel 12. The POV documentary, which was titled “Patti Smith: Dream of Life,” showcases important events in the life of the iconic singer and it turned out to be an immensely enjoyable experience for the viewers. The entire journey is captured through the legendary rocker’s point of view, as she narrates the story herself.

The documentary has been created by fashion photographer turned film maker Steven Sebring, who worked on the project for an astounding 11 years. Patti Smith, who is best known as the “the godmother of punk”, reveals intrinsic details about her life and her career in the widely watched film, which went a long way in helping her fans get to know her more closely. Moreover, the film which was aired on the 63rd birthday of the songwriter, also featured some of her friends and artists, who have been a source of inspiration throughout her illustrious career.

Meanwhile, Steven Sebring, who is also a very close friend of the legendary artist, reveals that initially he was just shooting footage of the punk artist, without any intentions of turning it into a film which would hit movie screens. However, during the extensive journey of 11 years, the plans were changed to a large extent.

Patti Smith shot to fame with her debut album “Horses”, which released way back in 1975. The album became a huge success and at the same time contributed immensely to the punk rock movement of the 1970’s.
