Rocker Krist Novoselic runs for office
June 6th, 2009 - 2:18 pm ICT by Sampurn WireAccording to contactmusic.com, former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic is running for office in his native Washington to protest the way the state elects officials.
The grunge legend this week (03Jun09) entered the race to become county clerk in Wahkiakum County, on behalf of the fictional Grange Party.
Novoselic wants officials in Washington to change the state’s policy on allowing candidates to name which political party they are affiliated to.
The rocker claims the recently implemented rule allows electoral candidates to “confuse voters”.
