July 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Broadway musical ‘Rock Of Ages’ was seen live on stage at the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent’ on July 14, 2010. The cast of Rock Of Ages performed alongside stars like Selena Gomez on the show that saw some of the highly talented contestants of the talent show qualify for the semifinal round.

The Rock of Ages performance also had a surprise performance in the form of Dee Snider. Constantine Maroulis rocked the stage and surprised the audience with his smooth voice and rock star looks alongside the legendary frontman of Twisted Sister. He comes from his recent Tony Award nomination for the Best Actor in the Leading role in a musical. The successful musical comedy has received as many as 5 nominations in the Tony Awards. They are also due to go on a National Tour later this year.

The ‘America’s Got Talent’ performance round of the quarterfinals show also held a few surprises for the fans as some of the great talents were surprisingly sent home. Among the qualified were the dance group Fighting Gravity. The group is known for its strange dance performance that is performed in the dark and the illuminated dancers appear to be floating in air. Another surprise entry into the next four from among the dozen contestants is the hip-hop dance duo Future Funk. Christina and Ali also went through to the next round overtaking the tap dancing Hot Shot tap dancers group. The selection of the contestants depends 75% on the audience vote and 25% on the judges. The judges panel consists of Piers Morgan, Sharron Osbourne and Howie Mandel.
