Rock ‘N Roll Hall Of Fame To Pay Tribute To Female Artists

gagaFeb 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The women, who have always played an important role in enhancing the acceptability and popularity of music, will now be revered by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. The organization will soon launch an exhibit, that would be dedicated solely to the female musicians who have made a mark in the history of the music industry so far. The exhibit will educate the people about how women have contributed to the transformation of music and their journey to fame and popularity. This new exhibit, that would be entitled as “Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power” will start from May 13.

The exhibit will take into accounts six eras of music, starting from the 1920s until the present. The organization will skillfully resort to several videos and artifacts to narrate the stories of how each of these women shaped their rock n roll career. They would pay a tribute to more than 50 women in the music industry, including Lady GaGa, Aretha Franklin, Melissa Etheridge, Billy Holiday, Chrissie Hynde, Tina Turner, Yoko Ono, Taylor Swift, Ruth Brown, Madonna and Bikini Kill. The exhibit will consume two big floors of the hall and would continue till February 2012. The organizers have also planned to provide lectures to the high school and junior high school students on the same topic so that they may identify the importance of women in the industry and may get inspired in some way or the other.

Jim Henke, the vice president of the exhibition said that throughout the years, women have played an important role in the world of music and they are getting the respect that they deserve. Wanda Jackson, Cyndi Lauper will kick start the much awaited “Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power”. They would also be accompanied by a few other musicians, whose names will be announced later.
