Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame to honor female artists

gaga Cleveland, Feb 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) ABC News has reported that female rockers would be honored in an upcoming event on the 13th day of May.

The event which is organized by the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland will honor Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Melissa Etheridge, Lady Gaga and other female stars. The program is entitled “Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power.”

The museum will open a new exhibit for about 50 female Rock ‘n Roll stars on two floors of the Hall of Fame. The stories of the women will be shown at the exhibit.

As part of the program the museum will also offer educational programs throughout the year on the role that women have played in the development of Rock ‘n Roll.

New Hall of Famers will be inducted into the Hall on the 14th day of May. Several female stars will be inducted into the Hall on that day including Darlene Love. There will also be a benefit concert on the 14th day of May with performers like Wanda Jackson and Cyndi Lauper in attendance.

Several women have played diverse roles to make the Rock ‘n Roll genre one of the most successful music genres.
