robwilliamsriddlerJuly 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is a possibility that Robin Williams the noted actor and comedian may essay the role of villain in the upcoming sequel to Dark Knight. The actor has expressed his desire to act in the latest Batman movie. The movie will be made under the direction of Christopher Nolan who also directed the award-winning ‘The Dark Knight’. In a recent interview he said that he is eager to get a role in the latest Batman movie. He has not acted in any Batman film so far in his career though offers came to him earlier. He lost a role to actor Jack Nicholson for a 1989 Tim Burton movie. Again in 1995 he lost another role to comedian Jim Carrey.

Actor Robin Williams has acted in notable films like ‘Jumanji’, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ and more recent ‘Night at the Museum’. He thinks he has the comic flair to portray the shades of dark humor which is an integral nature of the villains in Batman movies. However, the actor is aware of the fact that it would be very difficult if not impossible for him to rival the performance of Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight and comparisons are bound to arise. He is so eager to act in the new Batman movie that he would do any other role as well, the actor said.

Christopher Nolan has not confirmed whether he will rope in the actor for the much awaited sequel to Dark Knight but said that it may be possible. In fact the actor worked with him in 2003 for ‘Insomnia’, a thriller that got good response.
