London, Nov 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb is struggling with liver cancer. The 61-year-old has been undergoing treatment for some time with his wife standing by to take of him.

The singer was reportedly rushed to the hospital after a frantic call was made from the family home. When Gibb was last seen in public, he looked visibly frail.

Gibb was released from the hospital on Tuesday five hours after being rushed there. When the 61-year-old got back to the family’s £8million 12th-century mansion in Oxfordshire, his 91-year-old mother joined him there.

Gibb’s admitted last December that he was grateful to still be alive after he underwent a surgery. He said that, “The gastroenterologist told me my intestine was two hours from bursting. You realise that however much you don’t think about death – or think ‘that’s for other people’ – you’re just an organism living from day to day. I’m just grateful I’m here. Losing people makes you realise you’ve got to grab life – not put things off. I don’t have too much faith in destiny, or an afterlife. This is it.”

The singer has tried to keep the public assured about his life. He was on ITV last month to promote his solo single “Poppy Appeal.” He recently announced that he was in “absol-utely” great health shape.

Britain’s NHS says the survival rate of liver cancer is low.
