Aug 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Veteran comedian Robert Schimmel, best known for appearing on “The Howard Stern Show” is reportedly in a serious condition following his car crash. The accident took place on last Thursday, his representative says. The doctors cannot confirm when the actor will be cured and will be able to go back home. The media reports that the daughter of the comedian was driving the car when the mishap happened.

The 19 year old daughter of Robert Schimmel was driving the car on an Arizona highway at the time of the accident. Media sources reported that Robert Schimmel’s daughter swerved to avoid another vehicle and it caused their car to roll over onto the side of the road. The rescuers hospitalized them immediately after the accident. Sources reveal that Robert Schimmel’s daughter is in a stable condition now and his brother, Robert Schimmel’s 11 year-old son who was also there in the car was released from the hospital last Thursday without any injuries. The veteran comedian is still in the hospital in a very “serious” condition. The family of Robert Schimmel are reportedly by his side now.

The comedian is well known for his sex-driven humor and he has also released number of comedy albums. He is also a cancer survivor and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2000, the media reports that the comedian had to take chemotherapy for it as well. Robert Schimmel also wrote a book named “Cancer on $5 a Day (chemo not included): How Humor Got Me Through the Toughest Journey of My Life” which is based on his struggle with his disease.
