October 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): While Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are planning on a sabbatical from acting, word has already spread in Hollywood that the “Twilight” actor has been roped in to play the role of Jason Bourne in the famous Bourne franchisee. Tentatively titled “The Bourne Legacy”, work on the latest film from the Bourne family is yet to start. Scheduled to release in 2012, the producers are already on the lookout for an actor apt for the role and if reports are to be believed, the name of Robert Pattinson rules on their list.

Made popular by Matt Damon, critics are of the opinion that ‘Jason Bourne’ is the perfect role for Robert Pattinson at this point in his career. While the actor has already proved that he is a great looker and can set the screen on fire, his acting talents still need to be tested. And “The Bourne Legacy” may well be the best opportunity for him to prove that he is made of star quality.

Some of the other actors whose names are being considered for the role are Jake Gyllenhall, Mark Walberg and Idris Elba among others. While Walberg is well known for his action hero image, sources claim that Robert Pattinson does not face stiff competition owing to his popularity among the masses.
