Robert Downey Jr quits ‘Cowboys And Aliens’ for Sherlock Holmes sequel
January 13th, 2010 - 5:17 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 13 (ANI): Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr. has walked out of new movie ‘Cowboys And Aliens’ for Sherlock Holmes sequel.
He was to re-team with ‘Iron Man’ director Jon Favreau for the sci-fi adventure, based on the 2006 graphic novel of the same name, reports the Daily Express.
But, according to EW.com, Favreau is now looking for a new actor after Downey Jr. quit the project following a schedule clash with a planned follow-up to the Sherlock Holmes film.
Studio bosses are reportedly set to have Downey Jr. back as Holmes in June (10) to start shooting the sequel.
The new Sherlock Holmes movie has grossed over USD 300 million worldwide. (ANI)
