Beverly Hills, Jan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 68th Golden Globe Awards witnessed the celebrated actors and actresses of Hollywood and television industry walking the red carpet with elan as they graced the gala event. The funnyman of entertainment industry, Ricky Gervais hosted the event and he kept the audience riveted to their seats with his witty remarks and wonderful showman ship. Veteran actor Robert De Niro, Jr. was awarded Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award for his commendable contribution the entertainment industry.

Actor Matt Damon, who worked with Robert De Niro in many of his movies was called on stage to present the prestigious award of the night. The renowned actor, Robert De Niro can be called as the screen legend, owing to his mind blowing performances in the movies like “The Godfather Part II”, “Taxi Driver”, “Raging Bull”, to name a few. The notable actor won millions of hearts with his extraordinary talent of acting prowess. In his thanksgiving speech, the actor gave some funny comments and it surely entertained the audience. The audience applauded as the actor took the stage to receive the prestigious award last night. Robert De Niro was on stage for about four minutes and he thanked the jury and his fans for such a prestigious award.

Robert De Niro said that he was “moved” when he first heard about his Life Time Achievement Award two months ago. The actor, whose movie “Little Fockers” is running successfully in the theaters, made fun of the foreign press, TSA body scanning and also referred to some of the worst films of the year. Even he mentioned about Javier Bardem and said that Penelope Cruz’s husband might also have been deported from the country.
