rob-loweJune 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Rob Lowe of “The Outsiders” fame is taking up the pen to write his memoir. The actor says that this book will have the issues of his personal life where he has penned down the details of his experiences as a father and an actor. The book is set to be released in May 2011.

The Publisher Company Henry Holt and Co. said the memoir named “Stories I Only Tell My Friends” will be released by them in May 2011. The President of Publisher Henry Holt and Co. Stephen Rubin said about Rob Lowe’s book as a “mid-career meditation” of his four decades as an actor. However, in the year 2008 Rob Lowe got a million dollar book deal with Jonathan Karp at Twelve when there was a writer’s strike.

Rob Lowe’s literary agent at that time was Richard Abate and he explained then that Rob Lowe was booked for at least the year after and both of them would go back to Jonathan Karp when he would be done shooting. Richard Abate also added that Rob Lowe did not want to commit because he was not sure what he would be offered when the strike gets over. Richard Abate also said that Rob Lowe would only do the book with Jonathan Karp.

Rob Lowe’s present literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Welsh however, sold the book to Steve Rubin in a “confidential submission” as Jonathan Karp has shifted to Simon & Schuster. Rob Lowe is also known for his films like “Sam Seaborn”, “The West Wing” etc. He acted in ABC drama “Brothers and Sisters” and recently made a guest appearance in “Parks and Recreation”.
