Rob Lowe Planning To Buy Miramax?

July 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rob Lowe of “The Outsiders” fame is involved in a bid to buy Miramax Films with Tom Barrack’s real estate investment firm, Colony Capital. A reputed media source said that he actor went on a dinner date on July 6, with Tom Barrack and Flavio Briatore, to discuss this purchase deal. If the reports are to be believed, then Rob Lowe will be counted as a media mogul.
Rob Lowe, Tom Barrack and also construction magnet Ron Tutor have agreed the various pros and cons and then have launched a $500 million bid for Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s Miramax. The report says that these threesome plan to create a multi-platform media company which would be similar to Dreamworks. This time it is going to be a tough competition for them as the “Twilight Saga” group Summit Entertainment is the other major bidder. The deal to buy Miramax Films could close by mid-September and hence the bidders are in a hurry to finalize the deals. If Rob Lowe and his partners manage to get the deal then the actor would work as a creative partner with the Colony Tutor group to help with development projects, like scripts plays and books.
Rob Lowe buying Miramax or not has not yet been confirmed by the actor or his spokesman. The insiders of the deal related information have however said that it’s fair to say that Rob Lowe is a friend of Tom Barrack, hence he would be involved in the deal in some larger scale. Rob Lowe fans are waiting in anticipation to hear the news from the actor.
