Roald Dahl is still children’s favourite

London, Mar 19 (ANI): Author Roald Dahl is still kids’ favourite - five of his classics feature in the top 15 children’s books chart.One in four shoppers said they read the late author’s stories to their children because it reminded them of their childhood, reports the Daily Express.

According to a survey by supermarket Asda, 42 per cent said his books were unbeatable.

‘The Twits’, ‘The BFG, Matilda’, ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ and ‘Charlie And The Chocolate Factory’, all written by Dahl, made Asda’s top 15 children’s books chart.

The vampire craze continued with the four books in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ all making the chart.

Tom Waiting, children’s book buyer at Asda, said: “It’s really encouraging to see sales of children’s fiction growing at such an impressive rate year on year.”

He added: “It proves that kids of today aren’t just all about computer games and the latest gadgets.”TOP 15 BEST-SELLING CHILDREN’S FICTION
