sam-mendes-bond-200x300Jan 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems that the response to the last James Bond flick titled ‘Quantum Of Solace’ has made EON Productions, the Bond production company, think about the upcoming movie seriously. They do not want to face any more flak from the viewers or critics. The 23rd movie in the franchise needs to allure the movie buffs back to the halls again. That is why they have roped in a screenwriter like Peter Morgan. He has critically acclaimed movies like “Frost” and “Nixon” to his credit. However, the choice of director is a critical one. According to the latest buzz, Sam Mendes, the ‘Road To Perdition’ director will be hired for the film. However, it is not yet confirmed that he will be the direct the movie.

The 23rd James Bond movie is in its pre-production stage and the inclusion of Sam Mendes just as a consult may raise eyebrows. The director will have an uphill task ahead. He would have to please the hardcore Agent 007 fans who did not react warmly to the last James Bond movie. Most likely Daniel Craig will play Jams Bond in the upcoming movie as well. A film in this franchise is bound to be replete with action and latest gizmos. It remains to be seen how Sam Mendes blends suspense with action. He has been successful directing a very different film like “American Beauty”, which proves his versatility.

The studio has a plan to wrap up the shooting for the movie by 2010 and the date for its release will be sometime in 2011. The fact that Sam Mendes already has experience of working with Daniel Craig may add a lot to the matter.
