Rising Star Entertainment signs 4-film deal with Percept

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IANS) Producer Ravi Walia’s Rising Star Entertainment has announced a four-film deal with Percept Pictures Company.
As part of the agreement, Percept has acquired worldwide marketing and distribution of the films across all platforms. The first film under the association will be “Allah Ke Banday”. Releasing Oct 22, it stars Sharman Joshi, Naseeruddin Shah and Atul Kulkarni. It has been directed by Faruk Kabir.
“We are excited to partner with Percept Pictures on four films. ‘Allah Ke Banday’ is our first offering scheduled for an October release. We look forward to create more exciting projects with Percept in the coming months,” said Ravi Walia, managing director, Rising Star Entertainment, in a statement.
Added Shailendra Singh, joint managing director, Percept: “Percept Pictures strongly believes in growing through partnerships and alliances. We are looking forward to the slate of films with Rising Star Entertainment.”
Other three films are “Bhopal - A Prayer For Rain” and two untitled projects.
“Bhopal…” stars Martin Sheen, Mischa Barton, Kal Penn, Rajpal Yadav and Tannishtha Chatterjee. It has been directed by Ravi Kumar.
Yet another is a multi-starrer project that will be directed by Faruk Kabir. It will tentatively be ready for release by September next year. The fourth is an untitled trilingual horror film starring R. Madhavan. Directed by E. Niwas, it has also been green-lighted by the joint partners.
