Connecticut, Feb 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Rip Torn was arrested when the he tried to loot a Connecticut Bank, armed with a gun. He was apparently so drunk, that he believed that he was at home, and he even left his hat and boots by the door, according to the court statement by the actor. Later he was released, and now he is all set to enter rehab for his drinking problem.

The 78-year-old star was very intoxicated, when he broke in to a Litchfield Bancorp bank. He was subsequently arrested, when he was inside the Litchfield Bancorp bank with a loaded revolver. Later he was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and weapons offenses, for his act. However later he was released on bail of $100,000, and then he is going to the alcohol rehabilitation centre for his drinking problem. It may be recalled that even last year, he was given probation in a drunken-driving case in Connecticut.

Rip Torn’s real name is Elmore Rual Torn, and he was born in 1931. He is also the cousin of actress Sissy Spacek. He is an Oscar nominee for the movie Cross Creek. He is also an Emmy Award winner for The Larry Sanders Show in 1992.
