Connecticut, Jan 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It is quite shocking that an Oscar nominated actor has been caught red handed for attempting bank robbery. Rip Torn, who had been a recipient of the Emmy Awards, has been booked for trespassing in a bank of Salisbury on Saturday night. As per the reports, the 78 year old actor, who was intoxicated, possessed a firearm without license when he was arrested from the bank.
The reports indicated that Rip Torn, who was caught from the place of offense, had faced third degree criminal offense and first degree burglary charges for his act. This is an unfortunate incident for the actor, who had displayed some brilliant acting skills in films, which are popular till today. The actor must have been embarrassed with this situation and did not make any comment on these issues. Therefore, the motive of the actor behind such an act is in obscurity.
As the actor Rip Torn or any of his representatives did not make any comment on this unfortunate incident, it is speculated that he had committed the act under the influence of alcohol. Reports indicate that this is not the first time that the actor has violated laws of the state in an intoxicated condition. In the year 2004, it was alleged that he had collided his car with a cab, as he was driving under the influence of alcohol. Later in 2007, he had pleaded guilty in North Salem for DUI charges that were brought against him. Reports also indicate that he had undergone alcohol rehabilitation session but the recent reports raised doubts whether the rehabilitation had any positive effect on him.
