June 30th, 2010 - 7:40 pm ICT by ANILondon, June 30 (ANI): Ringo Starr will get a special honour for his 70th birthday-the gold plated drum he played on the Beatles’ 1964 U.S. tour is to become a museum item in New York.
The drum will be kept in the ‘Metropolitan Museum of Art’ as part of a special exhibition honouring his big birthday on July 7.
The ‘Ludwig Drum Company’ presented the instrument to Starr in Chicago, Illinois, reports the Daily Express.
Museum visitors will get a chance to view it from the rocker’s birthday by the end of the year. (ANI)
