Apr 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ringo Starr, the former member of the rock band ‘Beatles’ has revealed that the recent praise bestowed on the band by the Vatican hardly means anything to him. The Vatican has highlighted in its newspaper that despite the ‘dissolute’ lives and the drug abuse by the Beatles, all this can be forgotten keeping in mind the melodious music that the band created.
In the weekend issue of the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, it has been stated that despite their uninhabited lives and claims of being more famous than Jesus, with regard to their amazing music these facets become quite meaningless. The official newspaper of Vatican further went on to say that the enchanting melodies created by the Liverpool rock band still lives as ‘precious jewels.’ The tribute by the Catholic church was published in order to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the break-up of the rock group.
However, the words of appreciation furnished by the Vatican does not seem to have made much of a difference to Ringo Starr who has revealed that he hardly cares about the praise or the appreciation showered by the Vatican about the band’s music. In a recent interview to a leading news source, the drummer expressed surprise at the fact that the Vatican choose to forgive Beatles despite describing them as ’satanic’ and added that the Catholic church had other things to talk about than the rock band. The Vatican and the rock band is known to have shared a discordant relationship since John Lennon made the controversial comment in 1966 where he remarked that the band was more popular than Jesus.
