Rihanna on Brown assault: Bruises fade away, emotional scars stay

January 10th, 2010 - 2:05 pm ICT by ANI Tell a Friend -

Rihanna London, January 10 (ANI): Rihanna has admitted that even though the physical bruises she suffered from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s assault have disappeared, the emotional scars still pain her.

The incident took place the night before the Grammys in February last year.

“The physical pain comes and it goes. The bruises fade away. But the emotional scars stay with you,” the News of the World quoted her as telling February issue of American GQ.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker revealed that she did not call cops immediately after the attack.

She said: “I didn’t call 911. No. I know everybody thinks I did, but it was someone else.

“I never blamed myself, but I wondered, ‘What did I do to provoke it?’”

She also dismissed rumors that her cold sore, which can be cause by the sexually transmitted herpes virus, sparked Brown’s anger.

She said: “It’s not true. It’s a f****** scar. On my lip. That’s there every day of my life.”

Rihanna mentioned that friend/rapper Jay-Z helped her come out of her relationship with Brown.

She said: “It took a lot of strength to pull out of that relationship. He gave me advice and support.” (ANI)
