Rights body forms media advisory group
September 23rd, 2011 - 3:11 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 23 (IANS) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has formed a media advisory group of 12 journalists, including the editor-in-chief of Indo-Asian News Service
“The aim is to have regular interaction with media and to seek its enhanced and active role in promotion and protection of the human rights of the common man,” the statement said.
The group will also review the existing mechanisms of the commission regarding its outreach policy and advise on creating awareness among the people.
The commission will be chaired by NHRC chairperson K.G. Balakrishnan.
