Jan 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After being pounded with criticism for his crude sense of humor, the British comedian known as Ricky Gervais, who hosted the Golden Globe Awards over this past weekend, has stated that he would not host the event again. During a brief interview with ‘TMZ’, Gervais stated, “It doesn’t really matter because I’m not going to do it anyway. I said I wouldn’t do it a second time but I think twice is enough.”

Ricky definitely ruffled a few feathers and got things pretty stirred up in the henhouse when he made fun of many of the top stars in Hollywood, such as Angelina Jolie, Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp, and Robert Downey Jr. Even the executives of the show admitted that Gervais had went a bit too far.

A few of his “jokes” included jabs such as his mention to the guests that they should look forward to “ a night of partying and heavy drinking- or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast.” He also attacked Robert Downey Jr’s addiction with the statement, “many of you in this room probably know him best from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail”, when introducing the star.

Robert’s comeback showed the he was thinking clearly as he immediately answered, “Aside from the fact that it’s been hugely mean-spirited with mildly sinister undertones, I’d say the vibe of the show has been pretty good so far, wouldn’t you?”
