Ricky Gervais To Host The 68th Golden Globe Awards

This is noteworthy because it will be for the second time that Gervais would be hosting the awards ceremony. The British comedian is set to present the award ceremony for the second year running in spite of assorted evaluations about his performance this January.
Philip Berk, President of Hollywood Foreign Press Association, has mentioned that they are ecstatic to have Gervais back as the host of the Golden Globe Awards. Gervais has articulated his bewilderment over being chosen for hosting the program again. He has divulged that he can’t believe that the organizers have invited him back after the unpleasant comments he uttered last time.
Audience members at this year’s show glimpsed The Office creator teasing Mel Gibson’s earlier alcohol problem. Additionally, he was making fun of Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills’ pricey divorce.
Reports have mentioned that Gervais got this chance because of his immense talent and sense of humor. His combination of wit, impertinence and naturalness makes him the perfect host.
Gervais rose to fame with his television series The Office and the subsequent series Extras, both of which he co-wrote and co-directed. Besides writing and directing the shows, Gervais played the lead roles of David Brent in The Office and Andy Millman in Extras. He has obtained copious awards throughout his career, including seven BAFTA Awards, four British Comedy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Awards
Gervais has acted in a number of Hollywood films, including Ghost Town and The Invention of Lying .He is currently doing a feature film called Cemetery Junction.
