Los Angeles, May 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) E! Online has reported that Rick Springfield has been arrested on suspicion of driving under influence. The incident happened on Sunday evening.

The report say Springfield was initially stopped by the police on unspecified violation. However the officer realized that the singer’s breath had alcohol in it. A sobriety test conducted on Springfield by the officer proved that the suspicion was right. Officials say the breathalyzer showed that Springfield had 0.10 in his system. That was in violation of the allowed 0.8.

Officers kept Springfield in custody until he was sober enough to go home. He was released on a $5,000 bail bond. The report says the 61-year-old was released around 2:10 am.

The incident took place in LA at about 8pm. The singer recently launched his memoire which is titled “Late, Late at night.” He is best known for his work in the 1980s. Springfield’s hit works include “Jessie’s Girl” which was released in the 80s. he is also known for his role in the show “General Hospital.”

Last year, the singer gave interviews during which he relayed the challenges that he faced in his life. He talked about his depression and struggle with his sex habits.
