epilog_rickbaylessRick Bayless is not only renowned as the “King of Mexican Food” but is also a famous cookbook author and is currently on the Top Chefs show on Wednesday nights at 9pm. He has shown his authenticity and proved himself to be the predictable winner on the show.

He could be winning $100000 as prize money which he intends to use for his charity Frontera Farmers giving grants to local farmers. To start with he has introduced delicious and often economic recipes, mostly Mexican delicacies to the American palate. He is credited to having changed the American perception to Mexican cuisines and has done more than any other culinary star.

Rick Bayless is an Oklahoman who wrote Regional Cooking from the Heart Of Mexico which is “the greatest contribution to the Mexican table imaginable”. Rick received the title of “the best chef 1988″ from Food And Wine, and the ” Best American Chef:Midwest” from the James Beard Foundation. He is based in Chicago and has appeared on Good Morning America. He started as a chef in Lopez and did six years of research in Mexican cooking and was in much hyped controversy when he endorsed Burger Kings. He is staff at Culinary Institute of America and had initially appeared as judge on Top Chefs.

One big factor that worried all contenders on the show was the time taken between fully prepared recipe as it got served, since presentation was important, and the food often got cold.
Rick Bayless is to open a restaurant soon at the corner of Clark and Illinois. There are six semi-finalists, Anita Lo, Keller, Tracht, Smith and Chiarello. The show had each participant cooking signature dishes for each other.
