Rick has indeed had a tough time wining, while competing with top chefs like Cindy Pawlsyn, Ludo Lefebvre and Willow Benet. Since its premiere, each episode has brought in new challenges to testify the talent of the chefs and this last episode was no exception where there was Quickfire challenge apart from the usual elimination challenge.
In the Quickfire challenge the contestants had to make a meals based on its view rather than appetite; the kind that serves purpose of food stylist, food photographer and cookbook authors. Though Rick made green vegetable mole with tomatilloes on banana leaves that gathered much accolade, he lost to Wilo by 1/2 stars securing an admirable 4 stars. But Rick really outdid in his cooking in the elimination round where the challenge was to cook street food from organ meats so that it becomes easy to convince tourists to taste them. Rick came up with a strange yet unique Tongue Taco which really impressed the judges . In this round too, Wilo gave him tight competition but Rick won by 22 1/2 stars leaving behind Wilo at 19 1/2 stars.
