Rick Astley Since the pop sensation Michael Jackson died, false reports of other celebrity deaths have flocked the web sites. The rumors which were declared untrue dealt with the deaths of celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Harrison Ford, Britney Spears and the most recently, the 1980’s British Pop sensation Rick Astley.

The false reports stirred up gossips and discussions as the fans of Rick rushed to their computer to check the truth on the net. The amount of confusion created by the pranksters had taken a toll on Rick’s fans who were worried about the musician’s health. Soon after, reliable media organizations came up with the reports suggesting that the Internet news on Astley’s death were false and entirely baseless. Rick is quite well and alive, media reports said.

It could be the fact that after the past week had witnessed actual deaths of the legendary pop icon Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and recently Bill Mays that the pranksters/hackers have taken the opportunity to create panic over the net by publishing false news of ‘celeb deaths’.

The 43 year old singer, who has been in the news for ‘rick rolling’ is not the only person who has been the subject of such hoaxes. Recently renowned actor George Clooney also had to suffer the same fate, as some internet news announced Clooney’s death. The internet onslaught happening at the moment when media is celebrating it’s growing success has indeed become a noticeable factor. In Rick’s case it is a relief that the man who gave us hits like “Never Gonna Give You Up’ is alive and kicking. Those who were involved in the hoax again bites the dust.
